 Truck / Pedestrian Accident (Fatality)

The Manvel Police Department and Manvel Emergency Medical Services were called to the 19,900 block of Morris Ave. (State Highway 6) on Saturday, April 2, 2005 at around 10:00 pm to investigate a truck verses pedestrian accident. 

The preliminary investigation, and a witness of the accident, revealed that a Hispanic female pedestrian walking in the outside lane of traffic, possibly hitchhiking, was struck by a truck driven by Bobby Tending, 42, of Houston.  Mr. Tending was not injured in the accident.

The female, Matilda Venegas, 38, of Alvin, was pronounced dead at the scene by Brazoria County Justice of the Peace Milan Miller.  The victim was transported to the Galveston County Medical Examiner’s Office where an autopsy will be conducted.

No charges have been filed in this case.
