Manvel Police received a call from an alert employee of the First National Bank
of Alvin-Manvel Branch advising that they were attempting to stall a customer at
their drive-thru window who was attempting to pass a forged check. When police
arrived two subjects were detained and questioned. Investigation revealed that
one person was in possession of drug paraphernalia, crack cocaine and in
possession of a stolen checkbook reported stolen out of Alvin.
Katherine Mae Nichols D.O.B. 01/11/80 of Alvin was arrested and charged by
Manvel Police for Forgery a State Jail Felony, Possession of Controlled
Substance a Felony 3rd degree and Tampering with Evidence also a Felony 3rd
degree. The second subject was not charged at this time and was released.
Further investigation also revealed that Nichols was wanted by numerous local
law enforcement agencies for numerous misdemeanor and felony charges. Nichols is
now being held at the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Department Detention Center.
